Need a new laptop which is handy to carry around everywhere and also is powerful enough to do most of your work then we think that the Acer Aspire ES1-132 is a good bet.

When we think of small screen laptops anyone might think that they are pretty weak and do not perform as good but in recent times there have been quite an improvement in them with companies focusing more and more to improve their functionalities as a whole.

Small Compact Design

The laptop has a screen size of 11.6 inches which makes it small and also gives it the freedom to carry it around anywhere that you please,it is not a heavy device but not too light also considering that it is a fanless laptop which contributed largely in making this a thin laptop and most of the bulk comes from hard drive within.

The Acer Aspire ES1-132 is made out of plastic but is firm enough and the build does not look flimsy with a single toned color on the keyboard and the device might be not very vibrant in terms of color but it makes it look more professional.

Portability is a major factor with this laptop and to reduce the weight they have opted for a fanless design and it doesn’t really require a fan as it is easily able to cool down and not heat up,the screen is pretty average and is of matte type which is good if used outside but wont give you a blast of contrast and colors if that is what you are looking for.

The keyboard on the laptop is quite good with satisfying tactile feedback and is nice enough to type on,the ports are situated on the right hand side and few on the back.

Surprisingly Good Performance

A big setback when buying a small and budget laptop is that the user has to compromise a lot when it comes to power and performance and usually does not get what he is promised.

But such is not the same with the Acer Aspire ES1-132 as it offers quite good performance and runs on the 2.3 GHz celeron processor, this might not be the one of the powerful processors out there for example like the core i3 processor but it usually allows the user to run simple tasks and do his work without considerable and uncomfortable lag.

The celeron processor is an improvement when we compare it to other laptops in this category which tend to run on lower powered processors such as atom which lag up and are pretty slow, when talking about multitasking it is good enough to handle simple browsing activities and also movies and media files can be played easily.

We really cant talk about playing full fledged games on this laptop but it can easily handle few light games which can be played online and running 2 or 3 applications can be done with ease.

It initially comes with Linux operating system out of the box which might not be very liked by many of the new users who are accustomed to using windows as their sole OS so windows operating system can be installed and used.

Big enough storage and memory

As we mentioned earlier that the laptops in this category suffer drawbacks, hence one of the biggest is in terms of storage space and the company considering this issue decided to put a 500 GB serial ATA hard drive on the which makes the storage on the device really big and is one of the major selling points thus you don’t have to worry about having an external drive ready in case that your laptop runs out of storage.

The RAM might not be so great as it has 2 GB of RAM which is satisfactory and might handle most of your everyday tasks but surely cannot be pushed over the limit as you might experience lag issues and heating as there is no fan.

Is It Worth Your Money

With the introduction of budget laptops we have seen quite an improvement and they do seem to get better but at the same time there are a lot of problems and drawbacks which are faced when going for a compact laptop, taking into account the Aspire ES1-132 strengths such as portability and good connectivity and full hard drive of 500 GB storage this laptop is a decent and a sure contender for you money.
